General Guide

Approximately 2-3 minutes on foot

Mukai Sake Brewery(Mukai Syuzou)

Founded in 1754, this is a long-established sake brewery representing Ine. Their red sake, "Ine Mankai," made with ancient rice (red rice), is particularly popular with women for its fruity, rosé-like flavor. You can enjoy tastings and shopping while listening to the sound of the waves at the back of the brewery, which faces the sea. It's perfect for enjoying a drink in your room or as a souvenir.

Approximately 3-4 minutes on foot

Ine's water taxi

While large sightseeing boats are nice, if you want to experience 120% of Ine's charm, I highly recommend the "sea taxi" operated by local fishermen. You can feed the seagulls while hearing firsthand stories about the history and behind-the-scenes details of the boathouses. Seven boats operate on a regular schedule, and small groups (up to about 5 people) can board without a reservation on the day.

Approximately 5-6 minutes on foot

Funaya Biyori

Located right on the water's edge, this is Ine's most stylish tourist and community center. "INE CAFE," where you can enjoy delicious cakes and coffee, boasts panoramic views of Ine Bay through its large windows, allowing you to take photos that make it seem as if you're floating on the sea. Be sure to stop by for a break during your stroll. Additionally, the adjoining Kappo Umemiya restaurant serves fresh local fish paired with local sake.

Approximately 3 minutes by car (or 15 minutes on foot, walking uphill).

Michi-no-Eki Funaya-no-Sato Ine

This is a fantastic viewpoint offering panoramic views of Ine Bay and the 230 boathouses from a hilltop . There are also restaurants serving seafood bowls made with fresh fish and shellfish just landed at Ine Fishing Port, as well as a souvenir shop selling local specialties.

Approximately 30-40 minutes by car

Amanohashidate

One of Japan's three most scenic spots. It's located on a route you'll inevitably take when going to and from Ine. Take the cable car up to an observation deck (such as Kasamatsu Park) and enjoy the breathtaking view that resembles a "bridge to heaven" by looking through your legs.

Approximately 2-3 minutes on foot

General Information (Tourist Information Center)

This is the information center that serves as the base for sightseeing in Ine. You can get a handy illustrated walking map, and you can also rent electric-assist bicycles (e-bikes) that make it easy to navigate hills and long distances. Cycling along the coastline lined with boathouses while listening to the sound of the waves will surely create wonderful memories! You can also get the latest information on restaurants that are open that day.
